The Rundown: Rogers and Colton deal with two equally disturbing elements of their mission against Doom.

Colton and his men have teamed with local rebels to locate and rescue the American hostages being held by Doom at the embassy. As they continue their journey, flashbacks of a dark moment in Iraq continue to haunt the new Captain America. When the rescue party discovers what Doom has done to the hostages, something within Colton snaps and echoes a similar break from years before.
At the same time, Steve Rogers is escorted through the streets of Latveria by Doom who seems to admire the former Captain America and everything he did during the war. Doom even shows a memorial to Cap and his Howling Commandos as the reveals that he has been using the hostage crisis as a means of rooting out his enemies inside the country as Doom prepares to publicly execute them.
The Story: I continue to love the way Zdarsky mirrors the stories for both Rogers and Colton. There is a wonderful tonal shift between them as the reader sees the emotional fall of Colton as we also see a Steve Rogers who doubts his place in the world. Doom delivers as a great foil in this issue both in his admiration of Steve and his ruthlessness towards his enemies. I am really enjoying this arc and how it is evolving.
The Art: Schiti delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the visual contrasts between Colton’s past and the events in the present as well as the visual differences between his and Steve’s story.
